Authorities said the 13th floor of building 2 of the West Wing of the America's Mart building was the location of the fire. However, by the time firefighters arrived on the scene, the floor's sprinkler system extinguished the fire. |

Columbia Fire Department Begins New Program To Encourage Sprinkler Use

Columbia Fire Chief Bradley Anderson, Deputy Chief Aubrey Jenkins, and Assistant Chief Carmen Floyd joined Joe Palmer, John Reich, and other dignitaries at a press conference this morning kicking off a new way to promote the use of sprinklers.
